Purely Natural Cosmetics and Personal Care Products!
Do you use "Purely Natural Cosmetics" or do you know what is lurking in your cosmetics? Could Mercury be in your mascara? Is there Lead in your lipstick? Love your skin! If you wouldn’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin! Skincare products don’t sit on your skin they get absorbed directly into your body. It is well proven that what you put on your skin will enter your bloodstream. You really want to avoid using anything potentially toxic on your skin, your body's largest organ.
Ingredients in any personal care product; from lip balm to deodorant and shampoo, soap, toothpaste, body lotion, sunscreens and more are sold to consumers with no restrictions and no requirement for safety testing. Cosmetics and their ingredients do not have to get government approval before hitting the store shelves, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Do your skincare products have "warnings" on the container label i.e. avoid contact with eyes, dangerous if swallowed, keep this product out of reach from children etc.
If you look at the ingredients manufacturers put in their products; you will be horrified! Some of the ingredients are highly toxic. Researchers at Virginia Tech have found that the chemical triclosan, an ingredient found in some antimicrobial soaps, dish-soaps and toothpaste products reacts with chlorine to form chloroform, a nasty carcinogen. Chlorine is found in most tap water. Is it purely natural?
It is important to know the ingredients in your personal care products. Here are a few to avoid; mineral oil, petrolatum, parabens, phenol carbolic acid, propylene glycol, dioxane, toluene, acrylamide and sodium laurel or lauryl sulfate. These ingredients are known to clog pores, cause cancer, interfer with hormonal activity - mimicking estrogen, dermatitis, kidney and liver damage and the list goes on. Manufacturers continue to use these ingredients because they are cheap and readily available. All products are not equal, carefully read labels if you can't read or pronounce the ingredient, most likely it should not be in your skincare product. Just because the products states natural pure cosmetics is it really? Know the ingredients.
There are no standards for what is “natural” or “organic” and the two are not interchangeable. Product labels can state it is natural or organic and the product could be loaded with toxic ingredients. There is a watchdog group pushing for federal definitions of natural and organic when it comes to skincare products. The site list ingredients and states whether they’re linked to allergies, cancer etc. They disclose the products to avoid and why. It’s an excellent site with a wealth of information. The name of the group is Environmental Working Group at
Cosmetics Data Base.

Love Your Skin... Use Purely Natural Cosmetics
In my search for a truly natural blend of pure make-up that is of the highest quality I chose Afterglow Cosmetics. Afterglow discloses every ingredient in all their products. Since the FDA allows companies to conceal and not list the true ingredients in items listed as fragrances, flavors and any ingredient under 1% of the total formula you never know what you might be using. Always use purely natural cosmetics on your face. For product information contact
After Glow Cosmetics.
It can be a challenge to find raw skincare products or pure, natural organic products. Some products can only be purchased online. Always know the ingredients before you place your order. Send the company a short email requesting ingredients for the item you want to purchase. Some companies will state paraben free, preservative free, etc and not list what is in the product. Don’t be fooled by this type advertising. Know the ingredients or don’t make the purchase. Love your skin, use purely natural cosmetics check out the following web sites for products:
